        On May 28, Chancellor Gary S. May wrote:

        “The events of this week also cause me to believe even more strongly, if that’s possible, in building an inclusive environment that recognizes and respects people of all backgrounds and experiences. I remain committed to that and hope you will do what you can to eliminate racism, sexism, and other negative influences on our progression as a nation.”

        We join Chancellor May in these efforts toward building diverse, inclusive, and equitable environment in the Department of Communication and at the University of California Davis.         ICA20 Research Showcase

        Researchers in the Department of Communication will present 42 unique research studies at the annual meeting of the International Communication Association. Three of these studies won Top Paper awards.

        Research conducted by graduate students and faculty in the Department of Communication will be heavily represented at this year's meeting of the International Communication Association. Researchers in the Department earned three Top Paper Awards and a total of 42 different studies were accepted. In addition, our faculty serve a number of important leadership roles at ICA.?Narine S. Yegiyan is the current Chair of Information Systems, Cuihua (Cindy) Shen is the incoming Chair of Computational Methods, and Richard Huskey is the incoming Vice Chair of Communication Science and Biology.
